He looks just like me, but with brown eyes

I met Cody this afternoon. He was 23 hours and 58 minutes old when I arrived in his room at 4:10 pm. I didn't even give him one day of freedom from the torture... I mean.... joy of being a younger brother. He is half my height (if he could stand), a fifth my weight and 1/1000th my age, but I can already tell that his entire life when people meet him, they will do a double take and say "You must be Jake's brother." He is very cute. At first, I was super excited, but a bit scared to touch him - he looked so fragile. He was sleeping, crying and eating (3 of the 4 things I had been warned about and I guess I wouldn't know if he was doing the 4th, because he was wearing theese super-small nappies) and kind of ignoring me. So, I got bored and needed some attention from mum and dad in the pretty boring hospital room. I kept asking where the doctor was and why the TV didn't have Little Einsteins on it. After a little while, I finally asked to hold Cody and it was awesome. he was so small. I pet his head and told him that I loved him. When he cried, I said "Its alright baby, I'm here." I got to eat mums jello (they call it jelly here) and then dad and I went home to play with my trains. I'll keep you posted on my experiences in this New Era. Stay tuned.

I'm a big brother. Let the fun begin!

My brother, Cody, was born today. I haven't met him yet, but I am very excited to be a big brother. My friend and former teacher, Petra, picked me up from school and let me hang with her family for the night, because mum, dad and Cody were staying at the hospital for the night. We had tons of fun playing with trains among other things. This will be my first sleep over ever, but I'm a big boy and I am more than ready to sleep away from mum and dad for the night. Tomorrow, I will go to school and then dad will pick me up and I get to meet Cody. I will try and write more tomorrow about my new bro.

Father's Day

Today was fathers day in Australia. Mum and I made dad some pancakes in bed and I gave him a cool ring with a Puma on it. Its my 2nd favorite sports appearal logo - I am a big fan of the Swoosh. Keep in mind, I do reserve the right to change these opinions when I sign my first "shoe deal". We hung out a bit during the day while we got the house ready for a 4th inhabitant. Then we had fun going to the playground and the aquarium. We met another 3 year old whose mum is from the Philipines (he was born here). He loves Thomas and the Diesel Engines also. Overall it was a fun day and it was nice to hang out with dad on our final fathers day without Cody. I have loved hanging out alone with dad for the last 3 1/2 years, but I think I can probably share him a bit now.

The Beginning of a new era is imminent

Mum is getting bigger and I fear the end of an era is near. I will not be an only child much longer. It will take some getting used to, but I am excited. Mum and dad have warned me that my brother will mostly eat, sleep, poop and cry for a while - but I'll be patient (or so I say) and soon enough I will have a life-long playmate. In anticipation of the life-changing events, I have moved all of my old posts to my new site www.jakeandcody.com - I'm going to share that site with Cody - it should make it much easier for friends and family to keep tabs on us - and frankly - it means less work for me (or none, if my plan to make Cody do everything for me works out). I will probably need to go back and re-post some of the first 3 1/2 years on this site too. It will as always, be a work in progress.
